Turning limitation into a source of inspiration.
Initiated in June 2021, the desire was strong to offer the public and the artists the opportunity to meet again after the long pause, in the open air, in a setting that is both majestic and intimate, that of the courtyard of honour of the château of the Domaine Départemental de Sceaux. This first edition foreshadowed the project of a new way of opening Les Gémeaux. To other audiences, to other ways of listening and encountering music. This is how the first edition of what was to become, one year later, the Sceaux Jazz Festival was born.
The second edition resonates with the new sound of Les Gémeaux: a jazz accessible to all ears, from the most jazz-loving to the uninitiated, a jazz open to all musical influences and working towards the renewal of aesthetics, and finally, a jazz carried by different generations of musicians, from emerging talents to sacred legends. The desire also to make the jazz programme rub shoulders with contemporary music.
