Bachar Mar-Khalifé

Composed in the family home, isolated in the mountains north of Beirut, On/Off is a masterful fusion of electro rock, oriental lyricism and French song. Echoing the cold and hostile nights, as well as the sunny and peaceful days, this album in chiaroscuro maintains a fragile balance from beginning to end. Thought as a cry of love to Lebanon, it refers to the uncertain future and the social, economic and moral difficulties of the country. Melancholy, love, exile and hope are at the heart of a deeply felt project that does not renounce the light in a moving duality. Accompanied by Aleksander Angelov on bass and Dogan Poyraz on drums, Bachar Mar-Khalifé puts poetry at the service of a political message and takes us with him into a maze of powerful emotions.
